Faith Hanna sent this review of classmate Sally's show of photographs in West Seattle. The show sounds well worth a trip across the way, and Sally's Mixed Greens blog is inspiring and well-written.
Sally's small show is delightful. Sally and her colleague Poppy have arranged their very nice photos around the walls of a comfy coffee house. The arrangements are done with intention similar to Julia throwing down her postcards. I enjoyed picking out themes of color, line, and light.
For opening night, the food was great, proving that these artistic foodies can really cook. For those of you interested in further info, here's the description from their blog:
-------------
What Feeds Us
In our show, we have single images and collage-like groupings exploring the sensual character of food and offering perspective beyond the plate. While there’s an emphasis on whole foods in season, through this collaboration we’re taking a more personal look at what sustains us.
Our photos are printed on environmentally-friendly art paper made with mulberry fiber and printed with archival inks.
