Quilts and prints in Seattle

GREG KUCERA GALLERY

QUILTERS OF GEE'S BEND
Quilts and Etchings
February 19 - March 28

10 Gee's Bend quilts as well as some of the quilters' new prints will be on view. If you haven't seen the quilts in person, this is a great opportunity. In addition, we are lucky to have some of the artists in town. There is a reception with some of the women on Saturday, February 21 at noon.

  1. During my growing up years in Tennessee I snoozed away many cold nights being warmly comforted under fine heavy quilts crafted by the hands of my grandmother, an aunt, and my mom. Many of us women likely have similar fond memories, too. Thanks, Julia, for spreading this awareness that quilting, truly a labour of love creating both utility and beauty, is gaining artistic stature.

  2. Wonderful image, thanks Cathy. Quilts that have been used and loved are so full of content and meaning, and these in particular are so extraordinary visually, it is a pleasure to be one of many voices singing their praises. Thanks for posting.
